Parent's worst nightmare unfolded after daughter, 13, came home and told parents she'd spent evening with schoolmate who had 'boyfriend' aged TWENTY EIGHT

By JOE HUTCHISON, US SENIOR NEWS REPORTER Published: 16:57, 13 August 2026 | Updated: 16:57, 13 August 2026 Distraught parents dialed 911 after their daughter, 13, returned home and said that her underage-friend's 28-year-old 'boyfriend' had sexually assaulted her, cops say.  Julian Ames-Bonilla, 28, was arrested last month by officers in Newberg, Oregon, after a parent called police to report her daughter being allegedly sexually assaulted. He is facing two counts of rape, two of sodomy, three of sex abuse and two of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.   According to a probable cause affidavit seen by Oregon Live, the girl told police that Ames-Bonilla was the boyfriend of her friend. That friend was also 13, with Ames-Bonilla now accused of grooming one and sexually assaulting the other.  The alleged victim told investigators that her friend asked her to have sex with her and Ames-Bonilla, which she agreed to, despite being too young to consent.   The affidavit claimed that during the sexual assault the girl asked Ames-Bonilla to stop, only for him to refuse.  The girl told investigators that she started fighting him away, causing him to get upset and strangle her, the affidavit added.  At a detention hearing on Wednesday in the state, the girl's father told the court that his daughter was constantly scared since the alleged assault and has PTSD.  Detective Nathan Toby also laid out how Ames-Bonilla met the two girls during the hearing before Judge David Rees.  Julian Ames-Bonilla is facing two counts of rape, two of sodomy, three of sex abuse and two of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor The affidavit claimed that while during the interaction the girl asked Ames-Bonilla to stop but he did not He said that Ames-Bonilla started seeing the other girl in October of last year when she was 12, he told officers they met on a dating app where she claimed she was 20. According to the detective, police from several areas had frequent run ins with the pair starting in December of last year.  Detective Toby said this extended Ames-Bonilla and the underage girl being found sleeping in his car, where they would lie about their ages, names and relationship.  According to police, they were once called after a bystander heard the youth crying and yelling about having a miscarriage and saying she wished to kill herself. The girl's guardians also told police that their daughter is autistic and suffers from ADHD, he added.  They also told investigators that she had developed a urinary tract infection and a sexually transmitted disease, Detective Toby told the court.  He added that both police and the girl's guardians had warned Ames-Bonilla to stay away from the girl.  The affidavit also accused Ames-Bonilla of sending explicit pictures to the two girls and asking for the same in return.  Judge Rees told the court: 'It’s the series of incidents that show that defendant is not able to keep from victimizing one of the victims in this case, despite being told over and over again.' He added that he had no confidence that Ames-Bonilla would not continue to see the victim in the case and feared he would use her to 'recruit' other children.  Rees said that it appeared to him that Ames-Bonilla had a 'compulsion' to victimize the young girl. It is unclear at this time if Ames-Bonilla has entered a plea.
