The New Orleans Saints selected Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller with the 42nd pick in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Miller was the fourth defensive tackle taken. Miller was Georgia’s key interior defensive lineman the past two seasons. He was not as spectacular as the Jordan Davis-Jalen Carter years, though that was never the expectation. A four-star recruit in Georgia’s 2022 class, Miller redshirted his first year, then flashed off the bench in 2023, raising hopes he could be the next great Georgia defensive tackle. Miller did start in 2024 and 2025, and while not dominant — a combined 3 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss and 50 tackles over the two seasons — he shared snaps, as Georgia does up front. When in the game, Miller moved around and often drew multiple blockers. Run defense was Miller’s forte, and while Georgia’s defense was leaky at times the past two years, Miller was part of the unit that held Alabama to minus-3 rushing yards in the 2025 SEC championship, and also shut down Texas (just 23 rushing yards last year). Miller ranked No. 43 overall and was the No. 3 defensive tackle on Dane Brugler’s big board. Here’s what Brugler had to say about him in his annual NFL Draft guide: “Miller can be up and down with his anchor and rush consistency, but he is rock solid as a run defender who should excel on early downs. His role will shift depending on scheme, though he projects best as a one-gapping nose in a four-man front.” A rock-solid run defender who should excel on early downs. Here’s what an NFL defensive line coach told Bruce Feldman about Miller: “If you make it through Georgia, you’re a dude. He has the best hands. Has clean eyes. He’s fundamentally sound, and he is violent. He will know how to play a double. He’s coming in to play the run on first and second downs.” Another powerful, versatile interior presence with three-down potential, Miller combines powerful hands with great movement skills at nearly 330 pounds.
