Gazze'deki işgale ilişkin değerlendirmelerde bulundu. Netanyahu, İsrail ordusunun Gazze Şeridi'ndeki topraklarının bugün itibariyle yüzde 60'ını işgal altında tuttuğunu ifade etti. Hamas ile varılan ateşkes anlaşmasından sonra İsrail ordusu bazı bölgelerden çekilse de Gazze'nin yüzde 53'ünü işgal altında tutmaya devam etmişti. "Sarı hat" olarak belirlenen noktaya çekilen İsrail ordusunun ateşkesin anlaşmasının ikinci aşamasından sonra "kırmızı hat" olarak adlandırılan bölgeye çekilmesi gerekiyordu. Netanyahu'nun açıklaması, İsrail'in anlaşmanın aksine "sarı hattı" da geçerek Gazze'de işgali genişlettiğini ortaya koydu. Başbakan Binyamin Netanyahu'nun koalisyon hükümetindeki aşırı sağcı bakanlardan biri olan Maliye Bakanı Bezalel Smotrich’in de aralarında bulunduğu İsrailli yetkililer, Filistinlilere Gazze'yi terk etmeleri yönünde çağrıda bulunmuştu.
