Mystery Briton comes forward to claim life-changing National Lottery jackpot

A mystery lottery player from the West Midlands has finally stepped forward to claim a substantial National Lottery prize after operators issued a public appeal to locate them.

Allwyn, which runs the National Lottery, confirmed on Tuesday that it had received a claim from a player in Wolverhampton for the Set For Life second prize worth £10,000 every month for an entire year.

The ticket-holder was unaware of their windfall for several weeks following the draw, prompting lottery officials to urge players across the region to examine their tickets carefully.

The total prize amounts to £120,000, representing a potentially life-changing sum for the winner.

The winning ticket matched all five main numbers drawn on April 27, 2026, with the successful combination being 6, 13, 37, 42 and 43.

However, the player fell just short of the game's top prize, having failed to match the Life Ball number required to secure the maximum payout of £10,000 monthly for three decades.

The Set For Life game offers participants the chance to win up to £3.6million in total, with draws taking place twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.

Players select five numbers from 1 to 47 alongside a single Life Ball from 1 to 10, with each entry costing £1.50.

"We'll now support the ticket-holder through the process so they can begin to enjoy their life-changing win as soon as possible," he stated.

The claim must now undergo a validation process, during which Allwyn will verify that all rules and conditions have been met to protect the lottery's integrity.

Once this procedure is complete, the prize money will be handed over during an appointment with a winners' adviser.

The ticket-holder will subsequently decide whether to reveal their identity publicly, with no details about the purchaser or whether the win belongs to an individual or syndicate being disclosed otherwise.
