A mum delivered twins in the footwell of her partner's BMW X3 while rushing to hospital - and insists it was "really easy". Chloe Weston, 28, was taken aback when her waters broke on November 14, 2025, at 3.30pm - seven days before her planned caesarean section. The mum-of-four made her way to Queen's Hospital Burton with her partner, Adrian Bradbury, 33, but when they encountered traffic, Chloe knew she wouldn't reach the hospital in time. Adrian, a security officer, stopped the car, and 20 minutes after her contractions began, Chloe delivered twin boys, Koah and Kyro, just a minute apart. The newborns were swaddled in pink blankets - given by a stranger - before heading to hospital, where they remained for seven days. Now five months old and doing brilliantly, Chloe describes it as her "easiest birth". Chloe, from Swadlincote, Derbyshire, said: "I gave birth to one twin by the time we had pulled over, but he fell in the footwell. "By the time my partner came back with the police, I had given birth to the other twin. It only took about 30 minutes to give birth from when my contractions started. "I caught them myself and held them to my chest. I was in so much shock. "But it was a really easy birth, I was listening to my own body. It was a better experience compared to being in a hospital environment." Chloe, who is also mum to Jacob, 6, and Leo, 2, discovered she was expecting twins in March 2025. She had arranged a planned caesarean section that day, following advice that her twins were breech and transverse. However, after returning from her appointment, Chloe's waters broke at 3.30pm just as she was about to step through her front door. Chloe said: "I wasn't expecting to go into labour that day. I was worried as one of my babies was in breech and one was transverse, I didn't know how I was supposed to give birth. "I didn't believe what was happening. It was all a bit of a whirlwind. I had to run inside my house to quickly pack a hospital bag." Chloe and Adrian leapt into their vehicle, but became trapped in congestion on the A38, Willington, while the mum's contractions intensified. Left with no alternative but to push, Chloe delivered Koah, weighing 6lbs 4oz, as Adrian stopped the car. He stepped out and sought assistance from police officers in the vicinity - but by the time he returned, Chloe had already delivered Kyro, weighing 5lbs 2oz. "It happened within a few minutes," Chloe said. "I started getting contractions at 4:52pm and then half an hour later at 5:30pm, I gave birth to them within a minute of each other." While the parents were waiting for the ambulance, a local resident from Burton-upon-Trent "came out and donated us pink blankets to keep the babies warm." Chloe said: "Adrian rang up the paramedics who came out first. He was panicking, asking if everything was OK. I told him that I had delivered both babies, and he seemed a bit relieved. "The ambulance crew then came out, and they took the twins and me in separate ambulances - we all had an ambulance each. I was in the hospital for a week. Kyro was in ICEU for two days because he had low blood sugar, but Koah was perfect. "When we left the hospital, I was still in shock. I was left the day before my originally scheduled c-section date, which was very surreal." Now back home and in good health, Chloe managed to track down the resident who assisted them on Facebook to express her gratitude for her kindness. Chloe still reflects on the birth to this day - yet describes it as her "easiest birth" despite previously "dreading it". She said: "I'm still quite shocked, I do think about it quite a lot. I was absolutely dreading it, but the experience was completely different with the twins, and it was pretty much the easiest. "If I was to have another child, I'd happily be in the car all over again. It was the easiest birth."
