Multiple people injured after shooting inside Kroger grocery store in Texas

By LAUREN ACTON-TAYLOR, US NEWS REPORTER Published: 22:42, 15 July 2026 | Updated: 22:56, 15 July 2026 A shooter opened fire in a Texas Kroger grocery store as multiple people are reportedly injured amid the chaos.  The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office responded to an active shooter at around 3pm at the grocery store in Cypress just outside of Houston.  Several people were injured by the gunfire as law enforcement announced that a possible suspect has been detained.  'The shooting suspect has been detained and is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital,' the office said.  Witnesses told law enforcement that a Black male was seen wearing a yellow shirt and black pants and firing a weapon inside the store, according to the constable's office.  'Investigators are responding to the scene and will continue processing evidence as the investigation remains active,' the office added.  As law enforcement arrived on the scene, one man was seen walking out of the store after suffering from a single gunshot wound.
