A man's shirt was ripped off during a brawl at a petrol station in Russia amid ongoing fuel shortages.

Drivers are facing long queues and soaring prices due to Ukrainian strikes on oil supplies.

Ukraine's attacks have resulted in significant damage to Russian vessels and oil facilities, exacerbating the fuel crisis.

By WILL STEWART and TOM LAWRENCE, NEWS REPORTER Published: 01:31, 13 July 2026 | Updated: 01:45, 13 July 2026 A man's shirt was ripped off in a brawl as violence has continued to erupt at petrol stations across Russia. Enraged drivers have faced gargantuan queues as nationwide fuel shortages continue after Ukraine's attacks on the country's oil refineries and tanker ships. The dearth of fuel has caused prices to spiral and patience to run thin among Russians. In one video, a driver of a Chevrolet hatchback got tired of waiting for hours and cut the queue, provoking another motorist who had waited hours in line. A punch-up ensued between the two men on the forecourt in the Maslyanino, Novosibirsk region. The melee continued for around a minute as one of the fighter's shirts was ripped in half.  Another video showed a woman filming a man outside their cars in a queue for the pump in the southern Russian city of Astrakhan. The man reached to grab her phone and she responded by hitting him in the face, causing hid glasses to fall off.  Another fight broke out at a filling station in the Rostov region as tempers frayed over the Soviet-style queues. One fighter had his shirt ripped off in a brawl after cutting in front of another driver who had been waiting for hours Fights have broken out aqt petrol stations across the country as drivers lose their patience over fuel shortages Scenes also turned violent in the Samara region, where two men battled over who was first in line.  There is worse to come for Russians as Ukraine exploded another major oil refinery overnight in Syzran, Samara region. Long range FP-1 kamikaze drones left the Rosneft-owned plant - which supplies fuel to the Russian military - ablaze. More ships - mainly oil tankers - were hit by aerial drones in the Sea of Azov, as Ukraine seeks to halt supplies to annexed tourist region Crimea. Initial claims indicated 14 Russian vessels were struck and damaged overnight. This means an extraordinary toll of 90 ships damaged or destroyed in the past week in a critical blow to Vladimir Putin. A shadow fleet tanker was also struck near key port Novorossiysk in the Black Sea. Russia claimed to have downed a total of 349 military drones through the night. In Belgorod, a 13-year-old boy died after being injured in a drone strike. Petrol prices in occupied resort Yalta in Crimea have reached £3.50 a litre due to chronic shortages - more than double average UK prices. Here there are no queues 'because most drivers cannot afford to fill up at such a high price'. Russian state television has even admitted that parts of the country are running short of petrol.  Amid acute setbacks in the war, the Kremlin sent out Putin's RT propaganda chief Margarita Simonyan to admit Russians faced real hardships due to the endless war - but to demand they stop moaning and caution them against seeking to topple Putin as they did the last tsar Nicholas II in 1917. 'There is no petrol,' she bluntly acknowledged on state TV viewers. 'I still remember, my generation remembers, how food was actually rationed…..in 1992.  'We endured it. And we will endure it now. I have no doubts at all that [the enemy] do all of this so that we, like in 1917, run off to overthrow the dear Tsar, and then make such a mess of things.' Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the RT media empire, warned: 'I do not think this is that kind of time for us now. 'So I urge everyone: be calmer, stay calm. It is hard, yes, very hard. Be calmer about holding parties, too. This is not the time.' Long range FP-1 kamikaze drones left the Rosneft-owned plant - which supplies fuel to the Russian military - ablaze Oil tankers were hit by aerial drones in the Sea of Azov, as Ukraine seeks to halt supplies to annexed tourist region Crimea She failed to mention the million-plus Russians killed or maimed by Putin's failing war. At the same time, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov made it clear when the dictator could use nuclear weapons. 'If something is threatening the very existence of the Russian state, nuclear arms will be used,' he said. 'Otherwise, no. It is very important to understand this.' He told Swiss TV that Russia was 'quite capable of continuing the operation and achieving results that are successful for us without it [using nuclear arms]. And we are doing that.' Ukraine should surrender to Russia's demands on sacrificing territory 'and the next day, the war will end,' he said. In other attacks, Russia killed five people in Sumy border region with yet more attacks on civilians at a transport stop. 'The enemy clearly understood that civilians would be under attack,' said Oleg Grigoriev, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration. The Russian Ministry of Defence has stated it struck ports in Odesa and Chornomorsk overnight when it unleashed 13 missiles and 115 drones. 'The strikes targeted port infrastructure facilities in Odesa and Chornomorsk, Odesa region, used for unloading and storing military cargo and fuel, as well as naval vessels and a ferry transporting these goods to Ukrainian ports,' according to a statement.
