Moment family screams as five masked robbers smash their way into home during terrifying nighttime raid

The robbery took place on a residential road in the Cranford area of Hounslow, west London, on Saturday, July 25. In CCTV footage, a group of five men can be seen leaving a parked Nissan Juke on the street opposite.  As they approach the home, one man - armed with a sledgehammer - smashes through the front door and the balaclava-clad men march inside. Harrowing shrieks from the residents can be heard alongside the voice of a man as the burglars start ransacking the property. After just over a minute inside the home, they leave with five bags of loot and £300 worth of cash between them before piling into the getaway vehicle and fleeing the scene. A 56-year-old man was injured during the altercation but did not require medical treatment. The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation into the burglary with no arrests made so far. 'The occupant was assaulted during the raid. He tells us everyone is okay now.'  Local residents have reacted in horror to the incident on their sleepy west London street. Ellie Morgan said: 'The poor person screaming is terrifying.' Shanthy Sabesan described the video as 'horrible to watch'. One neighbour - named Trisha - said: 'Scary.' Flora added: 'Now that is frightening.' A Met Police spokesperson said: 'On Saturday, 25 July at 23.34pm police were called to reports of an aggravated burglary at a residential property on Firs Drive, Hounslow. 'Officers attended but the suspects had fled the scene. A man, aged 56, sustained injuries that did not require further medical treatment. 'It is believed that several items of clothing, as well as around £300 in cash was stolen from the property. 'No arrests have been made at this stage. An investigation is underway and anyone with information that may assist police is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 8936/25July.' A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We received a call for this incident but didn't send a crew to the address.'
