By WILKO MARTÍNEZ-CACHERO, US REPORTER Published: 03:13, 3 July 2026 | Updated: 03:26, 3 July 2026 A Midwest woman walked into a Publix supermarket in Florida and has not been seen since, according to her concerned mother. Chelsea Bonnell, 32, has not been seen in more than a month since she was captured in security camera footage walking into a Publix in Jupiter, about 90 miles from Miami, on May 26. She had left her home in Clinton Township, Michigan, roughly 30 miles southwest of Detroit, two days earlier. Bonnell's credit card was used for the last time on June 2 at a Dunkin' Donuts in West Palm Beach but there has been no activity since then, according to WPBF. No one has been able to get in touch with Bonnell, who remains missing. 'It's unexplainable,' her mother, Michelle Clauw told the outlet. 'It hurts, and it's killing me because this is not her. She would call one of us.' Clauw desperately said she just wanted to know that her daughter was okay, though she was concerned that something more nefarious could be happening. 'It's not like her, and we do fear that she may be with somebody that's not allowing contact to us because this is just not her,' Clauw said. Chelsea Bonnell, 32, has been missing for more than a month after leaving her home in Clinton Township, Michigan, to travel to Florida Bonnell, of Michigan, last recorded activity on her credit card on June 2 at a Dunkin' Donuts in West Palm Beach. She has not been in contact with her family Her concerned mother, Michelle Clauw, traveled to Florida last week to look for her missing daughter but found nothing. She described the disappearance as 'unexplainable' Bonnell had worked as an exotic dancer at Legends in Detroit on May 24 before buying a one–way ticket to Miami that same day, according to WWJ. Clauw has tried to reach her daughter on the phone for more than a month to no avail. Last week, Clauw finally traveled to Palm Beach to continue her search for Bonnell. The goal was to retrace Bonnell's steps from May 25 until June 2nd, she wrote on Facebook. Clauw wrote that the search has been 'more exhausting than you can imagine.' 'Being here is overwhelming,' she wrote. 'Making sure we follow our agenda is overwhelming, and then trying to make sure we have the energy to hit the nightclubs on our agenda is failing.' The distressed mother said she was experiencing an 'ugly mixed [sic] of emotions,' as she repeatedly asked why no one had seen her daughter. 'There's a ton of moving pieces in locating someone missing and it's a puzzle that's not getting put together as fast as I would like,' Clauw wrote. Bonnell bought a one-way ticket from Detroit to Miami on May 24. Her mother tried to get in touch with her on the phone for more than a month but did not have success Bonnell has not been seen since May 26 when she walked into a Publix supermarket in Jupiter, Florida (File photo of a Publix in Florida) She made a plea to her daughter, 'or whoever may be' with her, to prove that she was safe. 'Chelsea I will honor your privacy if that's what you want, but I need to know your [sic] safe, I need to hear you [sic] voice!' Clauw wrote. Early on Thursday, Clauw lamented that the search had not turned up any results so far. 'Everything in my heart told me we would lead to a connection, somehow, someway to Chelsea,' she wrote. 'This isn't how my trip should be ending, it should be a joyful homecoming.' The mother said that her concerns for Bonnell's safety were 'stronger than ever' after her visit to Florida. 'The emptiness in my heart is gut–wrenching, no leads, nothing that gives me hope she's here for a fresh start,' she wrote. 'Nobody can convince me that after 30 days, she wouldn't be in contact with anyone in our family, no way. NO WAY!' Clauw continued. The mom previously said Bonnell deleted her social media accounts before leaving Michigan for Florida. Her apartment was left furnished and most, if not all, of her clothing appeared to be missing.
