Megyn Kelly expressed concern over Ariana Grande's health, labeling her as "disturbingly thin" in her new music video.

Kelly criticized Grande's team for prioritizing profit over her well-being and questioned the absence of her parents and management.

She warned that Grande could follow a troubling path similar to Britney Spears if immediate action isn't taken.

By LAUREN ACTON-TAYLOR, US NEWS REPORTER Published: 00:53, 14 August 2026 | Updated: 00:53, 14 August 2026 Megyn Kelly demanded to know where 'disturbingly thin' Ariana Grande's parents are as she claims that the singer's team are pushing her to 'wind up like Britney Spears.' Kelly spoke out amid speculation over the singer's health following the release of her 'Petal' music video in which she appeared extremely thin. 'She is disturbingly thin, and the outrage is that her team doesn't seem to care,' Kelly said to journalist Maureen Callahan on Thursday's episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. 'Where are her parents? Where are they to say, "Honey, we love you. You have enough money. Your team around has made enough money. You need to take a step away."'  Kelly slammed the 33-year-old singer's team, claiming that they 'seem much more focused on making money off of her than actually checking her into a facility.' 'Which is very clearly, in my opinion, where she belongs,' the podcaster said.  'Now she's becoming fodder for these late-night so-called comics, like Bill Maher, who is right on brand, he doesn't give a shit about any woman, much less Ariana Grande, and here he is, the other night. It’s really not funny.' Callahan answered that she believes much of the blame falls on the mainstream entertainment media, 'which kind of whistles right past this stuff.' Megyn Kelly called out Ariana Grande's parents for appearing to be absent as their daughter appears 'disturbingly thin' Grande's new music video 'Petal' arrived on July 31, with many fans distracted by the singer's thin frame  Kelly slammed the 33-year-old singer's team, claiming they 'seem more focused on making money off of her than checking her into a facility' and asked where Grande's parents were  'Or they turned the conversation into some meta, impersonal debate about should we be talking about women's bodies? Should we be body shaming? That's not this conversation. It's not,' the journalist said.  Grande, according to Kelly, has 'more money than she could ever spend in 20 lifetimes.' 'Where are the people that love her? You know, there's no spouse. I don't know about the parents. Where's the manager? Where's the talent agent who should be able to say, "Ariana, you're going to in patient,"' she said.  'Instead, they released the video of "Petal," which we aired on our show last week, and our audience couldn't believe their eyes. Look at the chest cavity. It's all bone. That right there is someone who needs help.'  Kelly also said she believed Grande would be heading in the same direction as Britney Spears, who many have expressed concern over for years.  'There was another Britney video online of her inappropriately twerking. She always looks like she just got out of bed with somebody with the mascara running down her face,' Kelly said.  'The weird twerking it it works I guess if you're 20 and you're young and fit and super youthful, it doesn't work for Britney. Like the same little sad dance routine she keeps doing and putting online, trying to sex pot her way back into our feeds.  'That's where Ariana's heading.' Journalist Maureen Callahan said she believed Grande was heading in a similar direction to Karen Carpenter, the singer who famously died at 32 after struggling with anorexia  Callahan said: 'I actually think that Ariana, if she continues this way, will wind up like Britney. I just don't think she will live that much longer' Grande's appearance has been thrown into the spotlight, particularly during the filming and press tour for the movie-musical Wicked, and has remained a largely controversial topic Callahan, however, disagreed and said: 'I actually think that Ariana, if she continues this way, will wind up like Britney. I just don't think she will live that much longer.' 'I think she's clearly on the Karen Carpenter trajectory, where that eating disorder does so much damage to your internal organs, your heart can no longer take it,' she added.  Carpenter, an iconic singer from the brother-sister musical duo The Carpenters, was well-known for passing away at 32 years old from a heartbreaking battle with anorexia.  The three-time Grammy Award winning musician was checked into hospital in 1982, weighing just 77lbs, before she passed away just months later in 1983 after suffering cardiac arrest.  'I know Ariana Grande. Her mother is in the picture. Her brother Frankie Grande is in the picture. But I mean, these people will all have blood on their hands if something happens to her,' Callahan went on.  'Which again, as someone who suffered from this, it's beyond clear. Like there's no debate. She's a very, very, very sick young woman. She's very sick. She needs immediate help - my opinion.' Grande's appearance has been thrown into the spotlight, particularly during the filming and press tour for the movie-musical Wicked, and has remained a largely controversial topic. In December, Kelly called out Grande's 'anorexic' appearance alongside her also increasingly-thin co-star Cynthia Erivo during the Wicked press tour.  In December, Kelly called out Grande's 'anorexic' appearance alongside her also increasingly-thin co-star Cynthia Erivo during the Wicked press tour While previously addressing similar concerns, Grande credited her change in appearance to a shift in focus on a healthier way of living Grande, seen in December, 2018, said in a video posted on TikTok that 'the body you've been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body' 'She is very clearly anorexic. If she's 90 pounds, it's a lot. She looks like you could snap her in two with your fingers,' the podcaster said at the time.  Grande recently announced that she will take a step back from the spotlight at the end of her Eternal Sunshine tour due to the intense scrutiny.  The singer has repeatedly shut down those commenting on her weight and told a reporter at the time: 'I've heard every version of it - of what's wrong with me. And then you fix it, and then it's wrong for different reasons. 'I think in today's society, there is a comfortability that we shouldn't have at all - commenting on others' looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes or health or how they present themselves.  'It's not invited, so I don't leave space for it anymore.' While previously addressing similar concerns, Grande credited her change in appearance to a shift in focus on a healthier way of living.  She claimed in a TikTok video that 'the body you've been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body.' 'I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point in my life when I looked the way you consider my ''healthy.'' But in fact, that wasn't my ''healthy.'' Healthy can look different.' The Daily Mail reached out to Grande's team for comment.
