Police are on the hunt for a frenzied knifeman who attacked an elderly man with a machete in Glasgow. The horror footage sees the thug slashing the man, who had reportedly been stabbed in a car moments earlier. Emergency services, including armed cops and a dog unit, raced to the scene just after midday on Tuesday following a serious assault report. The victim, 77, was blue-lighted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is understood to have been stabbed inside a black Mercedes car but got out in a bid to stop the attacker from getting into his boot. In the clip, the knifeman can be seen pushing the man away while he wields the weapon, before opening the boot. Dressed in black, the culprit then starts hacking at the man with a huge blade as he tries to seize bin bags from the motor. The victim tries to dodge blows as the knifeman grabs one of the bags and throws it to the ground. The Mercedes was taken by cops and a hunt for the attacker is continuing. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Tuesday, 28 April, 2026, we received a report of a serious assault within a vehicle on Auckland Wynd in Glasgow. “Emergency services attended and a 77-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers remain in the area and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.” A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12.05 on 28 April to attend an incident at Auckland Wynd, Glasgow. An ambulance, two special operations response teams (SORT), a paramedic response car and a critical care team were dispatched to the scene. One patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”المصدر: Mirror | Source: Mirror
