London woman, 39, is charged with murder after man's body found in the back of a van in Leicester

By OLIVIA CHRISTIE, NEWS REPORTER Published: 21:36, 2 June 2026 | Updated: 21:49, 2 June 2026 A woman has been charged with murder after a man's body was found in the back of a van in Leicester.  Harinder Kaur, 39, from Hounslow, west London, has also been accused of perverting the course of justice.  She was due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.  Police said the remains of the man, believed to be in his 30s, were discovered after officers forced entry to a Ford Transit van in a car park on Garden Street on May 27. They were called to the vehicle after a member of the public reported concerns about its condition.  The van was registered to an address in west London where officers arrested a 39-year-old woman.  Work is ongoing to confirm the identity of the man and inform his next-of-kin.  Harinder Kaur, 39, from Hounslow, west London, has been accused of murder and perverting the course of justice. They are currently appealing to anyone who might have information about this journey.  A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: 'Anyone with relevant information, particularly doorbell or dashcam footage that may have captured a white Ford Transit with the registration BF18 VNV travelling to Leicester from London, is asked to contact police via 101, quoting 9873/28MAY.
