Many fans saw his purchase as an investment rather than an expression of his love for both One Piece and Dragon Ball. Logan Paul previously bought a PSA 10-graded Pikachu Illustrator card for $5.3 million in 2021, but he sold it in February 2026 for a whopping $16.5 million.
While Paul did disclose that he paid $550,00 for the Dragon Ball issue, he didn't reveal how much he paid for the One Piece issue. The move sparked debate on social media, with many fans of both franchises accusing Paul of attempting to ruin their hobbies.
Fellow content creator IShowSpeed, who is very vocal about being a fan of One Piece, replied to Paul's comment and wrote, "You don’t even know sh*t about One Piece."
Another added on X, "This is all market manipulation from beckett and whatnot and i hope they someday get fined and arrested for it, dude fr hasnt touched a manga in his life, f**k logan paul, f**k beckett."
One more wrote, "Dude is on a mission to ruin every hobbies out there."
