Light Square, Adelaide: Cops swarm alleyway as man confronts police during rush hour incident

By OLIVIA DAY, ASSISTANT NEWS EDITOR, AUSTRALIA Published: 00:15, 21 April 2026 | Updated: 00:29, 21 April 2026 Commuters have been blocked from entering a carpark in Adelaide's CBD after a man confronted police during morning rush hour.  Multiple ambulance, police and fire crews rushed to Playhouse Lane, near Light Square, just after 7.30am on Tuesday.  A man was heard shouting at officers to leave the alleyway, The Advertiser reports.  Officers were seen entering a multi-storey car park in the laneway alongside confused morning commuters as they tried to secure the scene. An eastern staircase has been blocked off from the public.  Officers could been seen on the top floor of the car park.   Crime Scene Investigators arrived about 8.15am.   It's understood there is no risk to the public.   Multiple ambulance, police and fire crews rushed to Playhouse Lane, near Light Square, just after 7.30am on Tuesday (the scene is pictured) No comments have so far been submitted.
