Noel Leon claimed his first FIA Formula 2 Feature Race victory on Sunday, winning in Budapest from third on the grid. The Campos Racing driver got a great launch and was ahead of title contender Rafael Camara on the run to the first corner, and he trailed polesitter Kush Maini through the first stint. The Mexican made his mandatory stop on Lap 17 and was into the pit lane just as a Virtual Safety Car was deployed. It meant that with the relatively small time loss in the pits versus Maini and Camara, who made their mandatory stops under full racing conditions, he emerged from the pit stop phase effectively in the lead of the race. He then held the duo off in the closing stages to earn his first Feature Race victory in F2, as the top trio were covered by just 1.2s by the chequered flag. Maini returned to the podium for the first time since the Silverstone Feature Race, finishing in P2 for ART Grand Prix. Camara's third-place finish was his fifth podium of the season, and he closed the gap in the title fight to Nikola Tsolov and Gabriele Mini ahead. Tsolov recovered from a five-place grid penalty for causing a collision in the Sprint Race to finish P7, and he continues to lead the way on 167 points. Mini was ninth after fading late on in the Feature, but remains second on 147. Camara has whittled down the gap in recent races and sits third, now on 145 points heading into the summer break.
