Lazio have turned their attention back to Andrea Pinamonti after their move for free agent Bamba Dieng collapsed, with the Senegalese forward failing his medical due to a recurring knee issue.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Biancocelesti have reopened talks with Sassuolo for Pinamonti, who scored nine goals and added three assists in 36 Serie A appearances last season.
The Italy international, long on Lazio’s radar, has now moved back to the top of Gennaro Gattuso’s shortlist, with the structure of a potential deal also shifting in the process.

Sassuolo push for obligation to buy on Pinamonti as Hull and Lazio circle
Lazio are working towards a loan with an option to buy, while Sassuolo are pushing to include an obligation in the deal instead.
Pinamonti has already signalled his openness to a move to Rome, leaving the two clubs to find common ground on the financial structure.
He’s also attracted interest from Hull City this summer, who saw an opening bid in the region of €10m turned down, with Sassuolo holding out for closer to €15m for the former Inter and Genoa striker.
With Lazio’s own attacking search having already stalled once this window, getting this deal over the line now carries added urgency for Gattuso’s side.
