Lavrov calls for implementation of SCO’s key agreements

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. The fundamental agreements reached by the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states must be implemented and reflected in the organization’s charter and other documents, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a meeting with SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev. "The SCO is celebrating its anniversary this year. It is important to organize its work to ensure that the anniversary is properly highlighted. But the main thing is to implement the fundamental agreements that the heads of state have already approved and that must be reflected in both the charter and other documents," Lavrov stressed. He added that Moscow will "listen with great attention and openness to the assessments" of the SCO Secretariat and will, as always, support its efforts to implement the agreements reached by the heads of state.
