Lamborghinis, Ferrari and Porsche are among 13 supercars seized by police after drivers turned motorway into rush hour racetrack

The drivers of thirteen high-performance cars were stopped by police after motorists reported seeing a series of dangerous manoeuvres on the M11.  Essex Police said the convoy joined the road in London at around 4.20pm on Tuesday, just as the evening rush hour was getting underway. Concerned witnesses told officers the supercars accelerated to excessive speeds before suddenly braking, bunching together and disrupting traffic. Drivers also allegedly used the hard shoulder to undertake other vehicles. Roads policing officers tracked the convoy down at the Junction 8 services, where all 13 vehicles were seized.  They included Lamborghinis, Audi R8s, a Ferrari and a Porsche. Each driver was issued with an anti-social driving warning. Sergeant Will Willsher said: 'The behaviour reported to us was not only anti-social but potentially placed other road users at serious risk, especially on a busy motorway during peak travel times. 'Roads Policing Unit officers acted quickly to locate the cars and take appropriate enforcement action. 'Speed limits are there to keep everyone safe and the law applies equally to all road users.' Essex Police is now appealing for witnesses who saw the cars travelling northbound on the M11 around the time of the incident to come forward. Anyone with information, dashcam footage or video recordings is asked to contact Essex Police quoting incident 955 of July 28.
