Solomon MP Luke Gosling, 54, was arrested by police on Thursday morning in relation to an alleged incident at the NT Thailand Grand Festival in Darwin on July 18, where both men were part of official proceedings. No charges have yet been laid. 'Investigations began last week and police arrested the 54-year-old earlier this morning,' an NT Police statement read. Gosling faces up to 14 years behind bars if convicted, according to the NT Criminal Code. He had previously categorically denied the allegations against him. The Administrator is the equivalent of a state governor, representing King Charles in the NT. Connolly was sworn into the role in February. A former Australian Defence Force commando, Gosling has been a federal MP since 2016 and currently serves as the federal government’s special envoy for defence and veterans affairs.
