düzenlenen Aydın Kültür Yolu Festivali'nin açılışı, yapımı tamamlanan Atilla Koç Kültür Merkezi'nde gerçekleştirilen törenle yapıldı. Ersoy, törende yaptığı konuşmada, Türkiye Kültür Yolu Festivali'nin bu yıl itibarıyla 26 şehri kapsayan büyüklüğe ulaştığını söyledi. Festivalin herkese hitap ettiğini aktaran Ersoy, etkinlikte 9 gün boyunca zengin deneyimler, yeni sanatsal değerler, farklı konularda bilgiler, yöresel tatlar ve keyifle hatırlanacak güzel anılar biriktirileceğini belirtti. Belirlenen 10 farklı noktada 43 farklı başlıkta 177 etkinliğin hazırlandığı bilgisini veren Ersoy, festivalde konserler, temsiller, sergiler, atölyeler, söyleşiler, film gösterimleri gibi geniş bir etkinlik yelpazesinin olduğunu kaydetti. Bakan Ersoy, Türkiye Kültür Yolu Festivali'nin önemine değinerek, şunları kaydetti: "Kültür ve sanat etkinliklerinin sınıfsal bir ayrıcalık olduğu anlayışı tamamen yıkılmakta, her kesimden insanımız bir ve beraber bu zengin, eğlenceli, öğretici dünyadan heybesini gönlünce doldurmaktadır. Bundan sonrası için de kazanımlarımızı koruyarak bütün bu değer ve faydaların sürekliliğini tesis edecek, yeni şehirlerimizi Türkiye Kültür Yolu Festivaline dahil ederek bu çok yönlü kazançların ülkemizin geneline mümkün olduğunca yayılmasını sağlayacağız." Aydın gibi medeniyetlerin nakış nakış işlediği bir coğrafyanın zenginliğine festivalde yer verdiklerini vurgulayan Ersoy, buradaki faaliyetler hakkında bilgiler paylaştı. Kültür ve Turizm Bakanı Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, geleneksel değerleri sadece göstermek değil öğretmek ve deneyimlenmesini sağlamak istediklerini belirterek, "9 günlük festival kapsamında her gün 3 ve toplamda 27 kez yapılacak atölye etkinlikleri bu amaca hizmet edecektir. Bir saatlik programlar halinde gerçekleştirilecek atölyelerin kapısı, geleneksel sanatların üretim süreçlerine dahil olmak isteyen herkese açıktır." dedi. "Lezzet Noktası" projesi ile Aydın'ın da yerel mutfak mirasını, güncel gastronomi anlayışıyla birlikte gözler önüne sereceklerini ifade eden Ersoy, şef Ahmet Güzelyağdöken'in yerel ve ev temelli Ege mutfağına dayanan yaklaşımıyla kentin gastronomi mirasını görünür kılacak çalışmalara öncülük edeceklerini anlattı. Ersoy, açılışı yapılan Atilla Koç Kültür Merkezi'nin de hayırlı olması dileyerek, yenilenen kültür-sanat yuvasına, eski Kültür ve Turizm Bakanı Atilla Koç'un adının verilmesinin son derece isabetli olduğunu ifade etti. Törende Ankara Valiliğine atanan Aydın Valisi Yakup Canbolat, AK Parti Aydın Milletvekili Mustafa Savaş ve eski Kültür ve Turizm Bakanı Atilla Koç da birer konuşma yaptı.
