Kosova vatandaşlarının yüzde 80'inden fazlasının AB üyeliğini desteklediğini dile getiren Kurti, bunun Avrupa'daki en yüksek destek oranlarından biri olduğunu vurguladı. Kurti, "AB, Kosova için uzak bir gerçeklik ya da yerine getirilmesi gereken bir standartlar bütünü değildir. AB, toplumumuzun doğal yuvası, reformlarımızın çerçevesi ve vatandaşlarımızın halihazırda seçmiş olduğu gelecektir." dedi. Kosova'nın ekonomik büyüme, demokratik ilerleme ve güvenlik alanlarında önemli gelişme kaydettiğini belirten Kurti, Şengen Bölgesi'ne vizesiz seyahat hakkının elde edilmesi ve AB üyeliği için yapılan başvurunun, Avrupa entegrasyonu yolunda önemli adımlar olduğunu söyledi. Kurti, Kosova'ya aday ülke statüsü verilmesi ve üyelik müzakerelerinin başlatılması konusunda AB'nin birlikte hareket etmesi gerektiğini vurgulayarak, "Kosova’nın geride bırakılmaması için AB içinde, ortak bir irade ve angajman sağlanmalıdır." diye konuştu. Başbakan Kurti, AB'nin genişleme süreci ile Kosova'daki reformların paralel ilerlemesi gerektiğini anlattı. AB Kosova Ofisi Başkan Vekili Eva Palatova ise Kosova'nın otomatik olarak AB adaylık statüsü alamayacağına dikkati çekerek, Kosova makamlarının AB'ye üye 27 ülkenin tamamını ikna etmesi gerektiğini bildirdi. Palatova, Kosova'nın demokratik standartlar ve kurumsal istikrar konusunda ilerleme göstermeyi sürdürmesi gerektiğini kaydetti. Kosova'nın AB'ye 15 Aralık 2022'de teslim ettiği üyelik başvurusu henüz üye ülkeler tarafından değerlendirilmedi.
