The case remained unsolved for 12 years until DNA from Newton was found on her nail clippings.‌He was finally found guilty of her murder in February following a two-week trial at Cambridge Crown Court. The case features in the latest episode of Channel 4's 24 Hours in Police Custody which follows Det Supt Iain Moor and his colleagues as they "finally getting justice and closure for Una's family". "When I joined the Major Crime Unit, the first thing my wife said to me was, 'You've got to solve this murder'," he said.‌Chilling footage to be broadcast over two episodes, starting tonight, shows Newton in a police cell after he had been arrested for the murder. Asked by a female producer if he was worried about being held, he replies: "No. What's going to happen is going to happen.
