Residents of Sir Keir Starmer's constituency have thrown their support behind the Prime Minister as the number of MPs calling for his resignation nears 100.

Speaking to GB News's National Reporter Charlie Peters, locals in Kentish Town argued Britons "do not have patience" and have not given the Labour Government enough of a chance to make change.

One voter told GB News that she is "angry" at the lack of patience from both Britons and fellow MPs.

She said: "I'm actually really angry, not at the Prime minister but at people that don't seem to have the patience.

"We had 16 years of the Conservatives running this country into the ground, and we can't even give the Labour Party and the and the Government two years to try and sort it out."

Offering further defence of the PM, another supporter argued that Sir Keir is doing a "reasonable job" and should be allowed to stay.

She said: "He should stay. So far he's been doing a reasonable job, but they haven't given him time.

"It takes time for a change, especially when it was in such chaos."

Asked by Charlie if she would be "sad" to see Sir Keir replaced by someone like Wes Streeting or Andy Burnham, she agreed.

She admitted: "Yes, I would be. But let's see what happens."

In contrast, one resident criticised Sir Keir and took issue with him for "appealing to the right" in recent months, particularly with his immigration policies.

She told GB News: "Appealing to the right is the most heinous thing that he's done. I think he was a good man, and he was a decent backbencher, but he's not a leader.

"It's not about small boats, it shouldn't be about small boats. People are right to be angry, but they're being angry about the wrong thing."

The Prime Minister is facing a snowball of MPs calling for his resignation, as well as three resignations from Labour ministers.

Jess Phillips, Alex Davies-Jones and Miatta Fahnbulleh have all resigned from their roles, ordering Sir Keir to "to do the right thing for the country and the party".

Ms Phillips told the PM: "Labour Governments come around rarely is the constant refrain at the moment. It's true they are precious.

"Every Labour Government in my and my family's lifetime has forged progress that changed our country and the world for the better. I know you care deeply, but deeds, not words are what matter."

In an address to the nation on Monday, the PM reflected on Labour’s crushing losses and declared he would "take responsibility".

He said: "I take responsibility, but it’s not just about taking responsibility for the results.

"It’s about taking responsibility to explain how, as a political and electoral force, we will be better and do better in the years and months ahead."
