Keir Starmer issued chilling warning as Britain set to become the 'sex crime capital of the world'

Britain is becoming the "sex crime capital of the world", Marcus Johnstone has warned Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

Speaking to GB News, the Criminal Defence Solicitor argued that the Government's latest deportation figures are a "drop in the ocean".

The Government has claimed victory after thousands of foreign criminals convicted of the most serious offences have been removed from Britain as part of the Labour Party's drive to ramp up removals.

New figures published this week by the Home Office revealed that 100 murderers, 600 sexual offenders and a further 600 violent criminals have been deported in the last year, with the top nationalities of those been removed coming from Albania, from Romania, from Poland and from Lithuania.

Delivering his verdict on the figures, Mr Johnstone told GB News that compared to the number of illegal arrivals into Britain, it is a "tiny number" of those being deported.

He said: "It is a tiny, tiny number, and I think the Government's going for the the easy targets. I think the Albanians are the sort of drug offenders, that's the crime of choice and they're easier to catch.

"And if they've got the returns agreement, then of course they'll be deported. But in relation to the actual true number of people committing offences, it really is a drop in the ocean."

He argued that the figures being "trumpeted" by Government does "not reflect" what is really going on in society in Britain.

Mr Johnstone told GB News: "All offences are serious, but if you look at the serious sexual offences, particularly those committed against young people, then there's very few of those people actually ever being deported. In fact, there's very few of them ever caught in the first place.

"So only a tiny number are being deported. I think the trumpeting of these figures are really very small figures in relation to the overall number of crimes, and it doesn't reflect truly on what's happening within society."

The solicitor highlighted that many foreign criminals use the "excuse" of their conviction as the reason that they cannot be returned to their home country.

He explained: "What's happening more is that the excuse of 'well, I've now committed a crime, I've been convicted of a crime, therefore for that reason I cannot now be returned', even if previously there was a returns agreement there.

"Because they're saying if I am now sent back to my home country, then this will happen to me, that will happen to me, I will be killed, and so there's a human rights issue there that they should not then be returned.

"So we end up holding serious offenders, serious criminal offenders and sexual offenders in this country."

Asked by GB News host Martin Daubney if he believes Britain has "effectively got open borders" with some of the world's most dangerous sexual offenders, Mr Johnstone issued a stark warning to Sir Keir Starmer.

He said: "My view has been for a long time now that Britain is becoming the sex crime capital of the world, in that we're inviting people to come into the country unchecked, not knowing any of their background, who then many of them go on to commit very, very serious crimes against the society that is actually looking after them.

"And you wouldn't find that in other countries, so it is an open border. People are allowed to to come here, they can travel here, they can come into the country and there's just no checks being done on them. They then go on and commit offences."

He concluded that Britain is facing "exponential growth" in the number of foreign criminals committing sexual offences.

Mr Johnstone told GB News: "I'm contacted almost every day by people who are accused of committing the most serious sexual offences.

"It is increasing day on day, week on week. It's an exponential growth in the number of foreign nationals committing the most serious sexual offences."

Sir Keir Starmer's spokesman has defended Labour's record on the migrant crisis as the Prime Minister after being warned of a "tidal wave of illegal immigrants" arriving through the summer.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister said: "We are committed to working together... migrants arriving by small boats are for the first time being detained and returned."
