Netanyahu, "İran'a yönelik saldırılarımız henüz sona ermedi. Yapacak daha çok işimiz var." ifadelerini kullanarak saldırı tehdidini sürdürdü. Haziran 2025'te 12 gün boyunca düzenledikleri saldırılar öncesi İran'ın nükleer silah üretmeye çok yakın olduğu iddiasını yineleyen Netanyahu, geçen yıl ve 28 Şubat’ta düzenledikleri iki saldırı olmasaydı İran’ın “çoktan nükleer silaha sahip olacağını” iddia etti. Netanyahu, sağlanan geçici ateşkes için talebin Tahran yönetiminden geldiğini ileri sürdü. Lübnan'la başlatılacağı duyurulan doğrudan müzakerelere ilişkin Netanyahu, "Gösterdiğimiz güç sayesinde Lübnan, geçtiğimiz ay doğrudan barış görüşmelerine başlamak için birkaç kez girişimde bulundu." dedi. Netanyahu, doğrudan müzakereleri iki şartla onayladığını savunarak, bunların "Hizbullah'ın silahsızlandırılması ve nesiller boyu sürecek gerçek bir barış anlaşması" olduğunu ileri sürdü. Netanyahu, 10 Nisan'da, Lübnan ile mümkün olan en kısa sürede doğrudan müzakerelere başlanması talimatını verdiğini açıklamıştı. ABD ve İsrail’in İran’a 28 Şubat’ta başlattığı saldırıların ardından İran’ın misillemeleri ile bazı bölge ülkelerine düzenlediği saldırılarla savaşa dönüşen süreçte, ABD Başkanı Donald Trump, 8 Nisan’da 01.30 sularında ateşkesi kabul ettiğini duyurdu. Trump, Hürmüz Boğazı'nın açılması şartıyla 2 haftalık ateşkesi kabul ettiklerini, İran’dan 10 maddelik teklif aldıklarını ve bunun müzakere için uygulanabilir bir temel olduğunu ifade etti. “İran'ın savaştaki hedeflerine ulaştığı" açıklamasında bulunan İran Ulusal Güvenlik Yüksek Konseyi de nihai müzakerelerin İslamabad’da en fazla 15 gün içinde sonuçlandırılmasının hedeflendiğini bildirdi. Türkiye, Pakistan ve Mısır; ABD-İran arasındaki mesaj alışverişinin sürmesi ve sonuca ulaşması için yoğun çaba gösterdi. Geçici ateşkesi desteklediğini açıklayan İsrail yönetimi ise uzlaşmaya Lübnan konusunun dahil olmadığını savunarak Lübnan’a yönelik saldırılarını sürdürüyor.
