Iran's response to US proposal: 14 points outlining its red lines

ALBAWABA - Tehran recently submitted a 14-point response to the American proposal to end the war, noting that it includes the outlines that Iran sees for ending the war, to the Pakistani side, Iran's Fars News Agency reported.

Fars News Agency quoted informed sources as saying that the Iranian response to Washington's nine-point proposal included a clear roadmap for ending the war, as well as reaffirming Tehran's red lines. 

Additionally, sources also noted that the message was conveyed through Pakistan after going through the usual decision-making processes within the relevant Iranian institutions and obtaining the necessary approvals.

For its part, the Iranian news agency Tasnim, citing its sources, reported that the Iranian response focuses primarily on the issue of "ending the war." It added that the American proposal included a request for a two-month ceasefire, but the Iranian side stressed the need to resolve the issues within 30 days and to concentrate on "ending the war" rather than extending the truce.

Tasnim further mentioned that the 14 points of the Iranian proposal include several issues, mainly:

• Providing guarantees against any military aggression 
  U.S. military forces' withdrawal from Iran's regional periphery
• Removing the naval blockade
• Releasing frozen Iranian assets; paying compensation
• Lifting sanctions
• Ending the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon
• Establishing a new mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz.

The agency confirmed that Tehran is awaiting an official US response to these proposals.
