Iran Army: War hasn't ended yet, Tehran sets its 'enemy targets'

ALBAWABA - Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia, spokesperson for the Iranian Army, said that the war in the Middle East is not over yet for Tehran and that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has recently updated its bank target.

Akrami-Nia emphasized that the Iranian army is ready at any point to respond to any attacks by enemies. He said any potential attack will be countered with new tools and methods, and in different arenas.

The Iranian spokesperson stated that "the western part of the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the Revolutionary Guard, while the army controls the eastern part, in full coordination between the two sides." 

He pointed out that the United States "did not dare to launch any ground attack against Iran," despite the threats made during the war, explaining that the ground forces played "an active and effective role" by launching Fajr and Fateh missiles at American bases in some countries in the region.

In addition, the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guard's naval forces, Brigadier General Saeed Siah Sarani, said that "the Strait of Hormuz will remain under Iran's control forever, and ships must pay fees."

Nonetheless, U.S. President Donald Trump told his aides to prepare for an extended blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the Wall Street Journal said on Tuesday.

Israel and the United States announced an attack on Tehran on Feb. 28 targeting military sites and killing many commanders and officials, including the country's then-supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

In response, Tehran carried out airstrikes and attacks on Tel Aviv and American assets in the region and announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. After 40 days of conflict, Trump revealed a two-week ceasefire deal, which he later on extended to an unknown date.
