The attack occurred at Righetti Oval in Melbourne's southeast about 11.30am on Tuesday. While walking along Gardiners Creek with their dogs, the two women were allegedly ambushed by a man who leapt from the bushes and grabbed one of them. After she broke free, the man allegedly targeted the second woman, who was also able to fight him off. The women's dogs turned on the alleged attacker, forcing him to flee into a tunnel beneath the Monash Freeway.
