But in some instances, it might reveal something quite life-changing, whether it's good or bad.‌One person revealed how a joke turned into something a little more when the results came back. They said how a friend of theirs wanted to do an Ancestry DNA test which showed there was 1% of DNA shared with their fiancée. But when they took the test, it was a little bit more interesting than just 1%. Now they shared the experience on social media which garnered a lot of attention since it was posted.‌On Reddit, they began: "So I did Ancestry DNA test as a joke with a friend of mine. Her and her fiancée did the DNA test and shared 1% DNA. I took the test and it paired me to my mum's family that I knew but on my dad side it linked me to two first cousins."‌It told them they were either first cousins or their aunt and uncle which would mean their dad is sibling with their parents.The person added: "They told me they had one uncle that I favoured. This blew my mind because all my life I knew someone else to be my dad.‌"I spoke with the guy he didn't remember my mum but they went to the same high school and hung around the same area.
