'I need somewhere to stay!' Tennis star Flavio Cobolli appeals to fans as he's left without accommodation after unexpected Wimbledon run to quarter final clash against Arthur Fery

He will take on the British hopeful, Arthur Fery on Wednesday as the pair battle it out for a coveted spot in the semi-finals.   The Italian ninth seed admitted he and his team have been left without accommodation after extending their stay at the Championships beyond their original plans, despite securing £480,000 in prize money with a commanding 7-5, 7-6, 6-3 victory over Australia's Alex de Minaur on No.1 Court. Players often rent private houses close to the All England Club rather than staying in hotels, allowing them to cook and relax away from the tournament site.  But Cobolli revealed that he is now searching for a new place to stay as his Wimbledon campaign continues. During his on-court interview, the 24-year-old turned to the crowd for assistance. 'I hope that I can go early to the house. But first we have to find one because actually we don't have a house. 'We have luggage in the whole house now and we have to find one. Maybe you guys have a house here in Wimbledon?' Cobolli also admitted he was keen to get settled in time to watch the World Cup. Should anyone offer him and his team a roof over their heads, they can apparently expect a traditional Italian thank you. 'Every day for me is ice cream and pasta. My dad cooks pasta with tomato and onion. 'I don't know. Maybe we'll eat here. There is a World Cup on. I want to see Spain and Portugal.' His father, Stefano, who also coaches him, has become a familiar figure during Cobolli's run at Wimbledon, with the pair sharing a close relationship.  Earlier in the tournament, Cobolli joked after defeating Mariano Navone that he needed to 'hit something' before playfully threatening his father, comments that quickly went viral. The victory over De Minaur came in difficult conditions, with temperatures climbing above 30C and play interrupted twice after spectators became unwell in the stands. In a touching scene, both players moved into the shade beneath the scoreboard while medical staff treated fans affected by the heat before play resumed. Cobolli admitted conserving energy had been a priority throughout the contest. 'I have been feeling tired on the Tour. I am very happy to reach the quarter-finals in three sets. The Italian also revealed what he and De Minaur discussed during one of the stoppages, paying tribute to his opponent after their latest meeting. 'There's a lot of respect between us. I love him like a guy. I love how he plays. I don't love to play with him. But yeah a lot of respect. 'We had a little chat here on the break and he told me that I have to expect another thing like what happened there because it's really hot. So, we were lucky to finish with only two stoppages.' Watching from courtside was De Minaur's fiancée, Katie Boulter, who had already exited the women's singles draw.  Wearing an England shirt, the British No.2 was unable to inspire the Australian to a comeback as Cobolli wrapped up victory in straight sets. After sealing the win, Cobolli celebrated by recreating Cristiano Ronaldo's famous 'Siuuu' celebration on the grass before turning his attention to the more pressing issue of finding somewhere to sleep. Cobolli becomes the first player to reach the quarter-finals from the bottom half of the men's draw and will now prepare for the biggest match of his Wimbledon career.
