Huge crowd of people search for man who went missing days ago

Huge crowds of people have been out searching for a man who was last seen days ago. The family of Stephen Faulkner, who is missing from his home in the Rhondda , said it is a "living hell" not knowing where he is. His family said the last confirmed sighting of Stephen, 66, on CCTV was at the Coppice Factory, near Cwm Clydach Country Park on Saturday afternoon. Police have been searching areas in Tonypandy over recent days, using helicopters, drones and dogs. One area of the search has focused on Glyncornel Lake in Tonypandy, where police say witnesses reported seeing Stephen on Sunday afternoon. Divers were searching the lake on Wednesday. Stephen's loved ones said his disappearance is "devastating for us as a family". "It's the 6th day with no news. We need him home," they said. They added that Stephen loved to walk so could have "headed anywhere". They are focusing their search on mountain paths in the area they knew he liked to go on walks to, but don't think he would have gone too far due to his health and "confused state". Dozens of people have been helping to look for Stephen in groups heading off from Cwm Clydach Country Park. People have been out on the mountain on quadbikes and bikes to look for places he could possibly be. His family said the support they have received from the community has been "unbelievable". They are continuing to try to retrace his steps on CCTV. The last known sighting of him on CCTV was at the Coppice Factory in Clydach, near the Royal Mail offices, at around 2.30pm on Saturday. "We are desperate for information," his family said. South Wales Police said a specialist team has been set up to look through all CCTV footage in the surrounding areas in the hopes of further sightings of Stephen. The force is urging anyone who takes part in the searches to ensure they do so safely and do not put themselves at risk. People should stick to paths and ensure that someone always knows where they are. Stephen was seen wearing blue jeans, a blue t-shirt with a black gilet and brown trainers when he went missing.
