Horror in Atlanta as woman stabbed to death on train in 'senseless' broad daylight attack

By LAURA PARNABY, US SENIOR NEWS REPORTER Published: 12:26, 31 May 2026 | Updated: 12:29, 31 May 2026 A woman has been stabbed to death on a train through Atlanta during a bloody attack in broad daylight on Saturday.  Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority's Oakland City Station just after 12pm, according to Fox 5.  The suspect, who has not been identified, was snared by cops and arrested at the scene. Emergency responders treated the wounded woman at the station, but she died from her injuries. She has not yet been named.  MARTA police said several people witnessed the crime.  'This appears to be a senseless act of violence, and our thoughts are with the victim's loved ones and those who witnessed this horrific incident,' officials said in a statement.  'We understand the concern and fear incidents like this can cause for those who ride and work on the MARTA system.  MARTA Police are actively investigating and remain committed to the safety and security of our riders and employees.'  Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Oakland City Station just after 12pm, according to Fox 5 .
