Homicide detectives investigate mysterious death of Melbourne woman after son makes tragic discovery

The woman's son discovered her body in bed at her Brooks Crescent home in Fitzroy North just before 1am on Saturday. He found her in bed after not hearing from her for several days. When she was found, neighbours said her back door had been left open. 'Well, that's unusual because she always has the doors locked,' neighbour Janine Tims said. 'So I think that's why they might think it's suspicious. And no one had heard from her for a couple of days.' Neighbours told Seven News that the woman had not been well in recent weeks. It is understood the Vietnamese migrant lived alone with her dog. The 73-year-old woman was last seen on CCTV outside her Fitzroy North home on Wednesday night as she was picked up by a female friend. Homicide detectives are investigating her suspicious death after she was found dead in bed by her son days later  Neighbours said it was unusual that her back door had been left open, while detectives await autopsy results to determine her cause of death.  The woman was captured on CCTV outside her home on Wednesday night being picked up by a female friend for an appointment, which could be one of the last times she was seen alive.
