A UK high street fashion retailer plunged into administration reportedly has all 40 of its stores at risk of closure . Reports claim Quiz Clothing owed more than £40 million when it was placed in administration, as a countdown starts to a decision on its fate. Orion Retail Limited, Tarak International Limited and Zandra Systems Limited - the companies behind the Glasgow -founded brand - officially entered administration in February 2026, and are now under the control of Interpath. The chain, which has been selling trendy clothing since 1993, operates 40 branches across the UK and seven concessions in Ireland, employing around 565 staff. A total of 109 redundancies have already been made across the company's head office and its distribution centre located in Bellshill, as reported by The Herald . More jobs and all locations have been placed at risk if a rescue deal cannot be secured, reports say. The administrators' report into Orion Retail Limited claims liabilities significantly outweighed assets in the months leading to its collapse. As of December, it claims that sums owed to connected parties stood at £15.4 million with a further £6.1 owed to trade creditors. It is claimed that such debts outweighed assets including £13.5 million in debtor balances - sums owed to other entities - and stock understood to be valued at around £6.7 million. Another report for Tarak International Limited claims £11.1 million in debtors and £1.4 million in stock set against £9.5 million owed to connected parties, and £3.7 million to trade creditors. Administrators have confirmed a deal is yet to be reached with a buyer yet to come forward, leaving Quiz Clothing's entire estate under threat, and hundreds of jobs in the balance. They said: "We presently anticipate the administration trading period could last until mid-May 2026. "Albeit, and with support from Hilco, trading performance is being monitored on a daily basis and paring back of operations will be implemented as it is considered necessary over the coming weeks. During the period immediately following our appointment - with news of the appointment having received local and national media coverage - we liaised with several parties who had expressed an interest in the company's business and assets. "To date, no offers have been received for the company's business on a going concern basis.” Aberdeen Basingstoke CastleCourt shopping centre, Belfast Bracknell Cardiff Carlisle Castleford Clydebank Craigavon Derby Dunfermline Eastbourne Metrocentre shopping centre, Gateshead Braehead shopping centre, Glasgow Buchanan Galleries shopping centre, Glasgow Glasgow Fort shopping centre, Glasgow St Enoch shopping centre, Glasgow Hanley Hull Inverness Irvine White Rose shopping centre, Leeds Leicester Livingston Manchester Arndale shopping centre The Trafford Centre, Arndale Mansfield Merryhill Newry Newtownabbey Northampton Norwich Portsmouth Romford Meadowhall shopping centre, Sheffield Stirling Telford Lakeside shopping centre, Thurrock Warrington Watford
