So let’s go through them:Adding affixes is great for blue or yellow gear that has started out strong with good ones. If you want to keep those good ones, you can enchant one affix and then keep the roll in order to “lock” it if you try to change the gear in the Cube.Transfigure is when you have “completed” an item. Fully. Imprint, Temper, Masterwork, Enchant, Sockets, literally everything you can do to it. This allows the addition of a decent or sometimes super-powerful addition to an item to “complete” it, whether that’s an extra affix or taking the weapon well beyond its 25 masterwork level. You need three of any Unique charm (you will end up with a lot eventually), plus the item you want to make into a charm.
