Helicopter circles over Plymouth as 'serious incident' declared by police

A 'serious' police incident is ongoing in a UK city this evening as a helicopter continues to circle. Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed a 'serious incident' is ongoing in Plymouth after multiple residents have spotted a police helicopter circling above the city on Monday evening (May 4). Emergency services have also been spotted at a business park near Cattedown. According to locals, the helicopter has reportedly been "flying low" over the St Judes area and between North Cross and Beaumont Park since 9pm. Police cordons are also in place, with a large police presence, by Treeby Court. A resident told PlymouthLive there are "loads of police and ambulance" off Gdynia Way. Another resident added: "Major incident on Embankment Road - helicopter, armed response and ambulances. Helicopter is searching the parks and streets in relation to the ongoing incident." The force are yet to confirm any further details of the incident.
