yetkililerinin, bir haftalık yasağının ardından cami personelinin pazar günü ezan okumak için içeri girdiklerinde türbenin örtülü olduğunu görünce şaşırdıklarını ifade etti. İsrail'in aldığı önlemleri "İbrahim Camisi'nin kimliğini değiştirme yönündeki süregelen girişimlerin bir parçası" olarak değerlendiren Ebu Senine, bunun Filistinlilerin camideki varlıklarını sürdürmelerini engellemeyeceğini vurguladı. Caminin, tüm avluları ve tesisleri de dahil olmak üzere, bütünüyle tamamen İslami bir yer olduğunu dile getiren Ebu Senine, burada yeni bir gerçeklik dayatmayı amaçlayan her türlü adıma karşı uyarıda bulundu. Ebu Senine ayrıca, cami çevresinde “Davud Kompleksi” olarak bilinen yapılar da dahil olmak üzere yeni tesislerin inşa edildiğini, bunun bölgenin tarihi ve dini dokusunu değiştirmeye yönelik olduğunu aktardı. Filistinlilere camide daha yoğun şekilde bulunma çağrısı yapan Ebu Senine, İsrail’in son dönemde cami kapılarını kapatma, ezanı engelleme ve ibadet edenlerin sayısını kısıtlama gibi uygulamaları artırdığını ifade etti. İşgal altındaki Batı Şeria’nın El-Halil kentinde bulunan Harem-i İbrahim Camisi'nin altındaki mağarada Hazreti İbrahim ve eşi Hazreti Sara’nın kabirlerinin yanı sıra Hazreti İshak, Hazreti Yakup, Hazreti Yusuf ve eşlerinin mezarları bulunuyor. İsrail'in 1967'den beri işgal altında tuttuğu Batı Şeria'da bulunan cami, 25 Şubat 1994'te sabah namazını kılan Müslümanların üzerine ateş açan fanatik bir Yahudi'nin eyleminden sonra kapatılmış ve açıldığında da yarısından fazlası Yahudilere tahsis edilmiş şekilde bölünmüştü. Hazreti İshak ve eşinin bulunduğu kabirler Müslümanlara ayrılan kısımda kalmış, diğerleri ise Yahudilere ayrılan ve sinagoga çevrilen bölümlerde bırakılmıştı. Tarihe "El-Halil Camii (Harem-i İbrahim) Katliamı" olarak geçen olayda 29 Filistinli öldürülmüş, 150'den fazla kişi yaralanmıştı. Caminin bölünmüş kısımları yılda onar gün karşılıklı olarak Müslüman ve Yahudi ziyaretçilere açılıyor. El-Halil şehrinde, özellikle Harem-i İbrahim Camisi çevresinde İsrail askerleri ile Filistinliler arasında sık sık arbede yaşanıyor.
