Chloe Smith, 25, was riding horses with friends on Friday when she was suddenly thrown off the saddle before the large animal fell on top of her, according to Itemlive. The freak accident also left the horse dead after it suffered a fatal neck injury, the outlet reported. Smith, of Swampscott, was immediately transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where her loved ones surrounded her as she took her final breaths just hours later. The avid equestrian had just reached her goal of owning a farm and barn for stabling horses, according to her obituary. Just one week before her death, Smith had moved into the farmhouse, where she cared for 18 animals, including horses, according to the report. Her family said that she also thrived in riding competitions, and loved 'teaching lessons to another generation of riders'. 'In a cruel twist of fate, she had just achieved what she most desired,' her obituary read, adding that she 'is gone long before her time'.
