The Italian teenager battled with team-mate George Russell for the lead but he was given a clear run to the chequered flag when Briton Russell, who beat Antonelli in the sprint race on Saturday, retired from the grand prix. Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton finished second, overtaking Red Bull's Max Verstappen to take the runners-up spot, while the Dutchman claimed his first podium of the campaign in third. World champion Lando Norris was also a DNF in Montreal, with the McLaren driver's day ended by a suspected gearbox failure.
