GB News Daily Reflection - Monday 29th June 2026

In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we remember Saint Peter’s denial and later restoration by the risen Jesus Christ to illustrate the Christian belief that no failure or shame is beyond God’s forgiveness.

Tht lesson offers us hope of redemption and a renewed purpose.

“Are you struggling with a sense of shame, something perhaps you did recently or a long time ago that just weighs heavily on your shoulders?

“One man who knew that sense of shame but received forgiveness and freedom from it was the Apostle Peter, Saint Peter. He was one of Jesus's closest friends.

“After Jesus's death and resurrection, we read of Peter saying to the other disciples, I'm going fishing. Perhaps he still carried that sense of shame and guilt.

“It took the risen Jesus Christ appearing to him, having breakfast with him t on the beach, and then taking him for a walk to restore him to the calling he had in Christ.

“Jesus asked him three times, ‘Peter, do you love me? Do you love me? Do you love me? Peter was able to affirm three times again.

“Jesus restored him. He forgave him. He took away that sense of shame that Peter carried. And he can do the same for you and me today.”
