Gamer bakes their dead Nvidia GTX 1080 GPU in 190-degree oven

ALBAWABA - As the PC gaming market becomes increasingly unapproachable each day due to high prices, a user had to resort to reviving his Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics card by throwing it in a 190-degree oven. 

According to a Reddit post, the user tried to save the graphics card by repasting it and installing new thermal pads. However, the PC's BIOS still didn't detect the GTX 1080, which prompted a "trip to the oven." To the user's surprise, the unusual method worked as the card cooled down and booted with full detection. 

Users state that the oven-bake method has been widely used in the past, but experts warn against the drastic measure, as some hardware parts might not be able to handle the heat.

The GPU's owner took to Reddit and wrote, "No, GTX 1080, you will not die today. After 8 years of owning Gigabyte's GTX 1080, it started showing artifacts and black screens. I tried repasting it, changing the thermopads, cleaning it with IPA and reinstalling drivers - nothing helped."

They added, "So I resorted to the forbidden technique of putting it in the oven and holy shit, how did that actually works!! Guess I'll be able to play FH6 on premiere day." 

The method went viral on social media, as many people complained about the current state of the PC market for consumers. 

A social media user wrote, "The PC market is so bad that we’re applying necromancy." 

Another added, "Yes, this is a very temporary solution. It doesn’t fix the problem that caused it, and all the connections that were remade are now probably made of less material and are more brittle than before. I hope for OP that it works, but the chances are good that he will be right back where he was in a week or two."
