Rabat – The Royal Moroccan Chess Federation (FRME) and Beyond 64 Chess Academy signed a partnership agreement in Casablanca on Wednesday, aiming to create a structured framework for cooperation in developing and promoting chess across Morocco.

The agreement focuses on modernizing chess practice in the country and positioning the game as an innovative educational tool.

Both sides pointed out the role of chess in strengthening cognitive skills, strategic thinking, and mental performance, especially among young learners.

Under the partnership, FRME and Beyond 64 will collaborate on

  • Training and education programs to improve teaching methods and coaching standards.
  • Competitions and events designed to expand the reach of chess nationally.
  • Talent identification and support, with a focus on nurturing promising young players.
  • School and professional initiatives, integrating chess into educational and workplace settings.

FRME president Bouchra Kadiri said the agreement shows the federation’s commitment to structuring the discipline and expanding its base of practitioners.

She stressed that the initiative targets students at all levels, from preschool to university, and aims to strengthen chess as both a sport and an educational activity.

Kadiri added that such partnerships are crucial for increasing the visibility and competitiveness of Moroccan chess nationally and internationally.

Beyond 64 founder Adel Choukri described the deal as a major step toward introducing modern chess pedagogy in Morocco.

He noted that the academy’s approach combines technology with cognitive excellence, offering innovative methods to teach and practice the game.

For Choukri, the partnership will help integrate chess more deeply into educational pathways while ensuring that young talents receive proper guidance and support.

Through this collaboration, FRME brings its national role in organizing and regulating chess, while Beyond 64 contributes its expertise in modern teaching techniques.

The shared goal is to raise the profile of chess in Morocco, encourage wider participation, and build a sustainable pipeline of players capable of competing at higher levels.

This agreement comes at a time when Morocco is seeking to expand its presence in mind sports and reinforce the educational value of chess.

Combining institutional support with innovative training, the FRME and Beyond 64 are hoping to make chess more accessible and impactful, in classrooms,  competitive arenas, and beyond.
