A new Serie A campaign is about to begin and, naturally, it’s time for Football Italia writers to share their predictions on the 2026-27 title winners, the teams that will qualify for Europe and those who will get relegated.
The 2026-27 Serie A season kicks off today with four games, including defending champions Inter taking on newly promoted Monza.
Serie A predictions: Title winner, European places, relegation
Both sides are mentioned in the season’s predictions filed by our writers, although for different reasons. Lorenzo, Susy, Peter and Sam, in fact, all think the Nerazzurri will win the Scudetto for the second season in a row, while Monza will be relegated.
Inter won their 21st Scudetto last term, in Cristian Chivu’s first season in charge as the Nerazzurri boss. No Serie A club, however, has retained the Scudetto since Juventus in the 2019-20 campaign under Maurizio Sarri.

The race for Europe appears to be more challenging, with different outcomes suggested by our staff.
Susy and Lorenzo put Max Allegri’s Napoli in the top four, while Peter and Sam pick Milan instead. Susy feels the Rossoneri will qualify for the Europa League, while Lorenzo even sees them finish outside a European place.

Como are expected to either qualify for the Champions League or the Europa League, while the most likely teams to get relegated, according to our predictions, are Monza, Lecce and Frosinone, but, yet again, there are differences from one writer to another.
