Flyers may need injured Owen Tippett back to have any chance against Hurricanes

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Philadelphia Flyers already figured that the pace of play would be a little bit different in their second-round playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes, compared with their six-game first-round win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.They really know it now.The Hurricanes were all over the Flyers from the drop of the puck in Saturday’s Game 1 at Lenovo Center, winning 3-0 in a game that wasn’t as close as the score. Carolina reeled off 11 of the first 12 shots on goal, including two that went in from Logan Stankoven (on the first shot of the game, a redirection) and Jackson Blake, and essentially cruised from there.It never felt like the Flyers were in it.
