Five teenage boys, all close relatives, were killed in a tragic road accident on Pasrur Road near Lakhinpur Stop, officials and eyewitnesses said on Tuesday. According to rescue sources and eyewitness accounts, a speeding car lost control while attempting a U-turn and trying to avoid a rickshaw. The vehicle veered off course and rammed into the rear of a pl bus stop at the stop, before becoming lodged underneath it. Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information and launched an operation to retrieve the vehicle trapped beneath the bus. During the rescue efforts, it was discovered that five young boys were inside the car. All of them had died on the spot due to the severity of the crash. The ill-fated car was traveling from Sialkot to Pasrur when the accident occurred near Khayam Marquee at the stop. Rescue control dispatched ambulances and emergency vehicles without delay, and teams worked professionally to extricate the victims from the wreckage. The bodies were later shifted to Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital. The deceased were identified as 14-year-old Ayan, 17-year-old Muhammad Ameer, 15-year-old Rohan, and 18-year-olds Abdul Rehman and Haroon. None of the victims was over 18 years of age. Sources said that Ayan and Abdul Rehman were real brothers, while the others were their close cousins. The boys had reportedly come to visit their maternal relatives for the Eid holidays. The tragic incident has cast a pall of grief over the entire area, with residents expressing deep sorrow and shock. In a separate incident earlier, an 18-year-old son of Haji Amjad Awan, a resident of Jamke Cheema, also lost his life in a road accident caused by overspeeding. The incident highlights the urgent need for strict adherence to traffic laws and greater awareness of road safety measures to prevent such devastating accidents and protect lives.
