المصدر: البوابة | Source: البوابةALBAWABA - A fire destroyed at least 30 wooden houses in Malaysia's Sabah state early Wednesday, officials announced.
According to Malaysian sources, this fire is the second in the area in less than two weeks and the reason behind it is still under investigation.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department announced the pre-dawn blaze swept through a settlement in Sandakan district in Sabah's northeast.
"It is estimated that about 186 residents are affected. We're still investigating the cause of the fire," Sandakan Fire and Rescue station chief Jimmy Lagung told AFP on Wednesday.
The fire department further mentioned that the fire caused no injuries or fatalities.
In a statement, the fire department mentioned it dispatched 21 firefighters to the location of the blaze, who worked to stop the fire and combat it from further speading to other houses.
On April 19 in Sandakan, a huge fire engulfed, destroying 1,000 homes and displacing thousands of people.
