Finland is becoming active participant in conflict in Ukraine — Mema

STOCKHOLM, May 4. /TASS/. Helsinki’s decision to allocate funds to Kiev for weapons, particularly drones, raises serious concerns about Finland’s own security. Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national-conservative party Freedom Alliance, expressed his alarm on social media, warning that Finland is increasingly becoming an active participant in the Ukraine conflict. Earlier, Finnish authorities announced plans to provide 300 million euros in aid to Ukraine by the end of the current parliamentary term in spring 2027. Mema pointed out that this aid is primarily intended for purchasing weapons, mainly drones, which have already begun to impact Finnish territory. He noted, "This policy is destructive for Finland: allocating funds to Ukraine for weapons that threaten our own security. Finland is gradually becoming an active participant in the conflict in Ukraine. Dangerous times lie ahead." There have been multiple reports of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) being spotted in Finnish airspace. Finnish activist Sally Raiski, who has relocated to Russia, told TASS that residents were shocked by the downing of Ukrainian UAVs. Meanwhile, Finnish authorities maintain that the situation is under control and continue to urge the public to support Ukraine.
