Saldırıda biri 9, diğeri 10 yaşındaki çocuklarını kaybeden; eşi de yaralanan Filistinli Amine Abid, çocuklarına gözyaşları içinde veda etti. Uyumadan önce oğlunun "anne beni saat ona doğru uyandır, babamla sohbet eder arkadaşlarımla otururum" dediğini aktaran Filistinli anne, "Tam da söz veremedim. Oğlum da bana tamam anne, ben uyanık kalırım, telefonla oyalanırım dedi. Ben yorgundum uyumuş kalmışım." diye konuştu. Saldırı sırasında çocuklarının çadırın önünde bulunduğunu söyleyen Abid, patlamanın ardından dışarı koştuğu ve çocuklarını yerde hareketsiz halde bulduğu anları şöyle anlattı: "Birden patlama oldu; uyanıp koşmaya başladım. Etrafa baktım çocuklarım yanımda değil. Telefon yanımda idi. Çocuklarım Salah nerede, Abud neredeydi? Çocuklarının gözleri önünde hayatını kaybettiğini dile getiren Abid, "Koşarak gittim. Hepsini yerde yatarken buldum. Şehit olmuşlardı. Kocam da onların yanında idi ama o yaralıydı. Çocuklarım hayatını kaybetmişti." dedi. Onları ilk gördüğünde "öldüler" diye feryat ettiğini çevresindekilerin kendisini teselli etmeye çalıştığını aktaran Filistinli anne, kesik kesik ifadelerle şöyle konuştu: "Oğlum Abud beni gördü. Çok korkmuştu. Bana baktı ve sanki öldüm der gibiydi. Onu öyle görünce oğlum öldü dedim. Bana nefes aldığını söylediler. Yüzündeki korku ifadesinden dolayı hayır dedim. Bana baktı, anne dedi ve öldü." "Ben bittim. Salah büyük oğlum, canım dayanağım." diyen Filistinli anne, "Biri 10, diğeri 9 yaşında idi. Çocuklarım; küçüklerim, hayatımın hepsi onlardı." ifadesini kullandı. Abid, saldırılar için bir neden bulamadığını şu sözleriyle dile getirdi: "Ne istiyordunuz bizden? Sırf onlar için dışarıda uyumuyordum. Anne, burada kalalım diyorlardı. Ben de onların hatırı için kimsenin yanında kalmıyordum. Ey dünya, ey Rabbim. Çocuklarım; çocuklarım gitti. Ne suçları vardı Allah'ım? Sadece sohbet etmek istiyorlardı. Babalarıyla oturmak istiyorlardı." Abid, yaralı babalarının çocuklarının hayatını kaybettiğini henüz bilmediğini paylaştı. "Hangi hakla, hangi yasayla dünyada bu olur, söyleyin bana? Allah'ım bana sabır ver." diyerek teskin olmaya çalışan Filistinli anne, "Üç yıldır dünyaya sesleniyoruz. Ey dünya diyoruz." şeklinde konuştu. Çocukların babaannesi Ummu Ahmed Abid ise torunlarının çadırın önünde oturduğu sırada saldırının gerçekleştiğini belirterek, hiçbir uyarı olmadan hedef alındıklarını vurguladı. "Onlar sadece çocuktu, ne yaptılar?" diye feryat eden Ummu Ahmed, torunlarının kendilerine hep yardım eden çocuklar olduğunu aktardı. Ummu Ahmed, bölgedeki ateşkesin yalandan ibaret olduğunu söyledi. İsrail'in Gazze Şeridi'nde gerçekleştirdiği soykırımda, 21 binden fazla Filistinli çocuğun hayatını kaybettiği, 44 binden fazla çocuğun yaralandığı ve yüz binlercesinin yerinden edildiği bildirilmişti. Filistin Merkezi İstatistik Kurumunun (PCBS), 6 Nisan'da Filistinli Çocuklar Günü'nde yayımladığı raporda Gazze'de 2025 sonu itibarıyla hayatını kaybedenlerin yüzde 30'unu, yaralananların ise yüzde 26'sını çocukların oluşturduğu aktarılmıştı. Gazze Sağlık Bakanlığı verilerine göre, ateşkesin yürürlüğe girdiği 10 Ekim 2025'ten bu yana İsrail'in saldırıları sonucu 786 Filistinli hayatını kaybederken 2 bin 217 kişi yaralandı. Ateşkes anlaşmasına, İsrail’in Ekim 2023’te başlattığı ve geniş yıkıma yol açan saldırılarının ardından varılmıştı. Saldırılarda 72 binden fazla Filistinli hayatını kaybetti, 172 bini aşkın kişi yaralandı, altyapının yaklaşık yüzde 90'ı tahrip oldu.
