In police interview, he brazenly told an officer: "I didn't commit rape".‌Met Police officers scoured CCTV footage and digital records, and found that the suspect had fled London to the West Midlands before a national man hunt was launched. Officers successfully tracked down Alsarout at an address in Coventry where it was discovered that he was planning to flee to Denmark the next day.‌Less than 24 hours after the attack, he was arrested and taken into custody and pleaded guilty to rape at Snaresbrook Crown Court on February 20.View 2 ImagesPolice say Alsarout had planned to flee to Denmark (Image: Met Police)‌Alsarout was today sentenced to 5 years and 7 months, and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
