It's day two of Keir Starmer in the bunker. 90 MPs have called for him to resign, and four ministers have quit - including Jess Phillips.

The day started with Housing Minister Miatta Fahnbulleh resigning. Oh no, he's lost Miatta Fahnbulleh!

Still reeling from the loss of Miatta Fahnbulleh, Starmer then hosted a very awkward Cabinet meeting in Downing Street.

Apparently what happened at this Cabinet meeting was Starmer just told them he wasn't resigning then immediately went into talking about the Strait of Hormuz.

So I bet Keir Starmer is actually really glad that Trump went to war with Iran.

So after all the resignations, all the negative briefings, all the talk of Cabinet walk outs not a single one of them had the bottle to confront Starmer to his face?

But all eyes were on Wes Streeting as he went into Number 10. This is where it gets absolutely hilarious.

Apparently, Wes Streeting asked for a conversation with the Prime Minister after Cabinet, and Keir Starmer refused.

So watch what happens - the Cabinet meeting finishes, and several Cabinet Ministers come out to show their support for Keir Starmer to the press. What did Wes Streeting do?

Well, come on, Wes, now's your chance. Are you running or not? Come on, Wes! The clock's ticking!

It's been non-stop stories about Wes 4 Leader for the last couple of months. Is he going to chicken out?

Then news broke... Andy Burnham, the King in the North... he was on a train from Manchester to London Euston!

Then... Jess Phillips resigned. In her letter she absolutely eviscerated Keir Starmer's character, which is really saying something because many people think Jess Phillips is incredibly odious.

She said Starmer only reacted to women's issues when there'd been a scandal, implying he doesn't really care. I think she basically described him as the weak, wet lettuce of a man that man think he is.

Then another Minister went. Alex Davies-Jones - let's be honest, someone you've never flipping heard of.

Then another Minister you've never heard of resigned! Health Minister Zubir Ahmed quit.

Rachel Reeves was supposed to be doing a big interview today, she cancelled it. Which is just as well because the economy is absolutely tanking - borrowing costs hit the highest rate since 1998.

Keir Starmer was supposed to meet Union leaders today. That meeting was cancelled just hours before it was scheduled to take place.

He did, however, find the time to visit a technical college to talk about Apprenticeships. Come on, Prime Minister, you should have gone to the Job Centre.

So we know Rayner, Streeting and Burnham are rumoured to be vying to take Starmer's job. Then this afternoon, another player appeared to enter the game.

Al Carns, ex-Royal Marine Commando, member of the elite Special Boat Service - The Times reported he was rallying the troops for a leadership bid.

This evening, David Lammy piped up to support Starmer. And then just a few hours ago, the news broke that Wes Streeting will hold emergency talks with Sir Keir Starmer in Downing Street tomorrow.

According to The Times, he will ask the prime minister how he plans to “get us out of this mess”.

And there was still time for one more twist in the tale just minutes before I came on air. Breaking news from The Times, Ed Miliband has told Cabinet ministers that he is prepared to run for the Labour leadership if Wes Streeting triggers an imminent contest.

The claim was categorically denied by Miliband but two senior government sources said Miliband told cabinet colleagues he would be prepared to stand as the soft-left's candidate to stop Streeting from getting into Number 10.

Starmer's clinging on, everyone wants him to go, he won't listen to reason, he's sitting in Downing Street stroking Larry the Cat muttering 'My Dad's a Toolmaker'.
